Lost Dog II

Day 2 of dog searching on Thursday evening.

Miraculously, the sweepers did not pick up the 'litter' I left at the void deck. And the food I left on the floor was gone!!! I'm not sure whether it was the cats or The Dog, because the 2 milk bone treats I left there was intact.

Momsie said the food level dropped when she walked pass in the morning. But she thought someone topped up the food in the afternoon when she went back to check again.

Whoever it was, I'm thankful it's not just me alone :)

I turned up at December's house to update her about my sighting last night. And both furballs had the ultimate fun fighting with each other for the same ball (when there are at least 10 balls in the house!) and playfully growling at each other while diving for the ball we throw. Of course, December is not used to sharing his toys and exhibited some sort of jealousy from time to time ;p

DAMN. Forgot to ask for the mom's name and hp number again.

The other neighbour, I got to know her name is Maggie, popped by and we went in search of The Dog again.

Again, we lost him. His tail tucked tightly under his legs the moment he saw us. He was afraid. And he started to flee, again.

We left the food where we last saw him and hopefully, he will find his way back there.

We dont see him during the day and hopefully he has found a safe shelter to hide from the storm and the evil people. You never know how cruel some humans may be.

That said, I actually know of a heartless boyfriend-turned-husband, who was only interested in his girlfriend. FUCK that idiot. LOVE is about loving your girlfriend's life (family, friends, career and pets). Not just her pussy! So the moment the girlfriend-turned-wife got pregnant, he immediately used it as a good reason to kick the dog out of the house. It is not even a reason. Luckily the mommy has a good friend who is an animal lover, and is also my neighbour. So I saw how the poor dog exhibited phobia of being abandoned as he followed his new mommy up and down the house every minute of the day.

Called up the SPCA in the morning and learned that they can only come get The Dog if we manage to confine him at an area.
God, how do we do that if he keeps running away???

Why would anyone buy a dog if he cant live up to the commitments?
Owning a dog is not as financially extravagant as you see in the picture above. Spoilt brat. Basically all a dog needs is food, water, shelter and love from the owner. I have known of a certain dog in my neighbourhood who eats what the owner eats, and gets self-medicated when he falls sick. He is at least 15 years old now and still walking.
They dont need alot from us.
Just ample love, care and attention.
They cant speak.
But they display body languages.
So they depend on humans to read them.
Like how The Dog depends on us to save him from further harm.
See how my dog 'speaks' to me during my non-loveshugskisses moment :D
He was totally cringing away!

Abandoned Dog

There has been a wandering dog around my neighbourhood.

He is black/white, owns a bushy tail that curls upwards and medium size. I still cant find a matching breed  to The Dog from google, but he is definitely not a stray. Sadly, I have not gotten close enough to get a picture. And actually, I am just using HE generally. I have no idea whether it is a male or a female.

There is no LOST DOG notice around the neighbourhood. So our guess is that he has been abandoned. Fuck that heartless dog owner.

I have spotted him for about a week now, and everyday he is still trotting around during the dark hours. Each day, I pray that he meets kind souls in his journey and that he be safe.

I first heard his howls last Thursday night (I think). He sounded as though he was wailing. I peeped out of my window and tried to find the source of the howls. It took me a long while for the eyes to spot something moving across the grass field right below. But it was too late for me to go down..

I was awoken by more howlings in the wee hours of Friday morning. Again, it was too dark for me to go down...maybe I'm just being the typical nonchalent Singaporean who waits for things to happen on its own...

For the whole week, I spotted him on and off every time I peeped out of the window..but it was always during the nightfall to early morning. So I never had the chance to complete what the heart felt I should do - to go look for him.

However, I made point to carry a packet of dry food and some water whenever I am walking Murphy, in case I bump into The Dog downstairs. But I never did. No such luck. He was always only right across the field when I peep out of my window.

FINALLY yesterday, I decided to do something about it. While bringing Murphy down at 930pm, I peeped out of the window again and saw The Dog!! Met a neighbour in the lift who told me she has also heard of it and has been looking out as well. It was really heartwarming to know that there are other animal lovers out there. And it gave an extra boost to completing my mission.

So with her and her brother, we gathered another dog owner and her dog, and went in search for The Dog. We went in the direction where I saw him walking towards. It leads to the small park in our neighbourhood, but we still couldnt find him..

We decided to split ways to hunt for him. Me with Murphy and the other dog owner (I only know her as December's mum) with December. The other neighbour went to grab her quick dinner with her bro.

Found nothing.

Murphy & I went back to our side of the grass field....

..................

And I squinted across again and saw the dog!!!

So, with my laziest dog breed in tow, I dragged and pulled Murphy across the grass field again to the dog!

This time round, I got near. And managed to catch a closer look at him. He looked sick and had dark spots all over the body. And he was grazing the grass as though looking for food. The heart just wringed in pain.

He seems to be afraid of human beings and ran away when he saw us coming. Also ran away when another human being got near while he was trying to flee from me.

You know. Dogs normally dont just run away from fellow dogs. I have seen how Murphy excitedly chase after doggy scent and dog traces. Furthermore, Murphy was much smaller that he was. So I'm guessing he must have been very badly treated for the past week (and God knows what happened to him prior to that).

I chased him silently for about 3 blocks and a huge carpark before I could get him to stop and for me to put down the food and water for him.

He stood in the shadows and watched as I knelt down in the brightly lit void deck to put his meal down. He knew.  But he seems to be very wary of human beings. So I summoned for him to come and proceeded to walked away so he could eat in peace.

Maybe he didnt understand my gesture. Because he also walked away. I thought he must be hiding in some dark corners or under some cars while waiting for the coast to be clear. So I brought Murphy home and decided to go down later to check if he has eaten the food.

He DIDNT.

I hope it's because he is full from the food that other kind souls out there fed him.

N said I should just get the SPCA people to help. I guess that's the only way now.

Just in case he is really a lost dog, can you guys please look around for any LOST DOG notices around your neighbourhood? Let me know if any fits my description.

Thank you. And God, please bless the dog.

Webshots - the olden days :)

I actually own several webshot accounts but have conveniently forgotten about them in recent years. Some of which I have even lost the member ID and password to. I dont even know how many accounts I have. My BAD.

However, I have been constantly reminded about them because webshots sends out a viewerships/downloads statistic once every while. Each time, I just conveniently delete them away.

But the number of viewships/downloads continue to appall me. I wonder who is still looking through those olden days photos!! :p

The other day, I decided to click on the link within the email to reminisce a little bit myself, and also to kaypoh and see what interesting albums I have got there! Luckily enough, I managed to find alot of my webshot accounts because 1 account would be a fan of another etc (but only in 1 direction). Sadly, I think, I might have lost a few links to the cyberspace :(:(

OH MAN!

I really had a good time clicking through each and every photo which marked an important calendar event, a birthday gathering, or even simple meetup with friends.

Since I just celebrated 10 years with my JC mates last Saturday, shall include some pictorial evidences of our growth from the olden days :p But they are just going to appear as thumbnails over here :(

nice.. that's the toilet..erm...washroom behind us..

10 years

10 years.
A little more wrinkle. A little more mature. A little more personal life experiences.
A great deal of friendship!

BEST fireworks shot of the night :)
(Canon point and shoot)

Standing tall and proud for my country's 45th.
(Canon point and shoot: Auto mode vs sunset mode)
Am loving all preset modes in the camera! Please do not buy me a DSLR! (>.<)"

Our indulgence at 4pm. Cant help. Born in a food haven. :)
Food is the default way to kill time before the 815 fireworks, or the 645 dinner whereby EVERYBODY will be late. Either one we choose, we had at least 2 hours to kill.
So, we chose the best way :)
EAT!!
Carb load cures lactic acid burns! :):)

Popped a champagne to celebrate. Career advancement, 10 years..
More importantly, the bogus farewell :D
Well, we did have a good time! :) I'm quite sure the feeling's unanimous.

Singing LIVE for the whole pub :) I kinda LOVE the idea of a KTV + PUB in a place concept. Cures everybody's itch. :) And our class do have some of the greatest singers!!

ALOT of gamings. A huge leap of advancement from those dee-dee-diu days.

Whereby Queens had to drink :p:p
(They didnt know they were both holding to Queens during this shot)

Picture talks - alot of beer glasses, champagne glasses, song request slips, poker cards

Sober right before the rounds and rounds of beers
And almost 2 towers later :)

When the sotong balls smell from table beside became too strong to resist.
And we needed food to ease the overly drunk blood streams.

We did bah kut teh after to clear the alcohol content flowing right through us

It was really an AWESOME night!!!
I want more please!!!

Post note: Slept at 330am and dearest little boy popped his face 2 inches from mine and sniffed his wet nose all over at 705am. How not to wake up? When we saw the bed at baby boy's 1st year chalet in the afternoon, N almost conked out on the bed :p

TGIF - Life in pics

Pictures are great tools for telling a million stories.

Growing old up..
Closeup shot of my girlgirl :)

My turn with boyboy!

Old but happy - Happiness :)

Heart the BOHO getup :) Mom&dad got that jade pendant for me from Tibet :)

We did sukiyaki one evening..
Nothing beats Mari and my traditional homemade ones. Ok lah. I cheat. I dont make sukiyaki sauce from scratch (even though Mari already gave me the recipe) HEH!
Reminded of the beef shabu we still have in N's fridge. Got to go make some for his family one day :p If we can find a good time to hang around his house long enough to prepare a meal..

RAR!!

And LIFE after owning a new baby!
We are beginning to explore the world in green :)
PA to the baby's father >_<"

New BAG!!

This is Murphy (2 months old) when I first brought him home.
We chose the most expensive bag in the shop. Made of LEATHER - more stable support, pee and poop proof. Inexperienced first time mommas often spend unnecessary $!
O.o

He fitted comfortably and could even manage to spin 360 degrees around inside.

This is Murphy (4 months old) when I first brought him out to see the world after all his vaccinations. And it was like the Xth time I used his expensive leather bag. He was home-quarantined prior to all the jabs, so we didnt have much use for the bag.

By the time he had all his jabs, see HOW MUCH he has grown???!!!

I had to take extra care to zip him in carefully so that his furs do not get zipped in the process.
Since then, he continued growing and soon outgrew the expensive leather bag.

I think I barely used it 10 times. It's now kept somewhere in the storeroom. Couldnt bear to ditch it (the usage hasnt justified the $)
>_<"
But you know animals have natural instincts? Like how hermit crabs naturally know how to ditch their shells for bigger ones as they grow?

I witnessed the marvel of instincts with my own eyes...

Murphy crawled and settled himself snuggly into my Polo Raulph hand carrier one fine evening... *Hyperventilatesss*

Awwwwwwwwwww!!!!! It was JUST.SO.CUTE!
***GUSH*Madly in LOVE***
If Hazel does read my blog, I think she will have a panic attack and might just go get that poodle! :):) Cos we just had a loooooong doggie conversation over email and luncheon :) The happiness a furball gives you is priceless. Far surmounts the extra trouble you have to incorporate into your day-to-day lifestyle.

And lesson to self: To be more diligent in future impromptu purchases!

A splash of colours - NDP

The triumphant results of two DSLRs vs a point and shoot
*SMIRKS*
(photos credit to point and shoot)
The quality is quite amazing. Especially when I compared to the DSLR shooters that night :) They probable haven gotten the settings right :) So till next Sat, mine continues to stay on this glorious chart! heh heh!

Red spokes emerging from the blazing white mass.
This isnt the best shot, but my favorite display of sky sparklers that night.

TGIF - Hanging Out

Amendment to this POST, I realised this was actually the FIRST stick of bamboo pole I hung out of the windows!!!! :p:p

HEH. Must have looked quite retarded to the neighbours across us :)

Taken on 21 June 2008.
I decided to wash his well-salivated teddy bear O.o

The bear's obsolete now, and been replaced by a similar brown one which too, became obsolete.

O_O"

Dad says he couldnt understand why we need to buy soooo mannnny toys for our baby a dog, only to have him bite, fling and ruin them.

It is because of LOVE!

Because he is the baby of the family.
Because he is so cuddly cute, he gets toy donations ;p
A closer look..the tinier toys are hidden by the big ones above. ALL has a name! And Murphy brings you the correct one everytime you call for them! Well, most of the time anyway, if his tiny brain isnt overwhelmed by the sexcitement over his latest toy.
Most are squeakies! Cos he has a fetish for anything squeaky.
Just yesterday morning, he heard the squeaks from a little girl's shoes and ran frantically just to find the source of the squeak! He must have thought it was a toy! I swear he was going to pounce on those shoes (and the poor girl's feet) if I hadnt pulled him back! ;p

Go Indian!

We decided to be adventurous on Monday, I suggested we go Indian.

Trust me. We know Singapore is a food heaven because of its multi-ethnicity, but how many of us actually know what is Indian food? To me, Indian food has always been prata (assorted flavours), teh tarik, rojak and nasi bryani. Nothing beyond that. Even my Japanese friends know more indian dishes than me..

So we made the right choice by doing a North Indian dinner on Monday.

We missed an exit on the ECP and so switched venue to The Playground. YAY! They offer an Indian buffet! 2 years ago, N met the owner of this restaurant somewhere and he asked why Singaporeans love buffets?! Guess it must have hit him to start a buffet trend from then :p

Something to tentalise your taste buds first...
My God! This cracker is super ooooiiisssshhii!! Better than the cracker on Nasi Bryani! :):) Crispier and more flavourful!

There were even 2 kinds of dips for the crackers!
This greenish one is abit sourish...
Paired with this reddish (cranberry) one that is sweetish!
The 2 go well together and you dont get ji lad (sick) of the dips.

Stove set up, all ready for our Indian meat stick grills
Assortment of grills - Chicken (2 types), fish (verrry fresh!), shrooms, potatos.
FREE FLOW
Personally, I find the spices in most Indian food too strong and flavourful for my liking. I would prefer the fried chicken in a Bryani, anytime.

Buffet spread - My 1st plate of food.
You can see I was quite skeptical! :p But the rice/potato/veg thingy in the middle is actually verrrrry nice! Not overly generous with the spices, hence taste more normal - Me likey! The goo puddle on the right is the yoghurt thing that I always see Indians eat with their rice in Lao Par Sat - I guess it is what balachan is to the chinese :p

Almost hyperventilated in my tracks at the buffet table!!!
Rice in sweetened milk!!!!
OMG! My childhood anorexic hate for everything but sweet food conjoured into fantasy of cooking rice with milo, candies and Dutch Lady condense milk just transformed into a real life dish in front of me!

Thus proves the fact that I was all along cut out to be a kitchen goddess someday.. :p:p I was 5-6 yrs old when I thought of that recipe!!

Assortment of curries - Fish, chicken, cheese.
You MUST TRY the CHEESE one! It was the only curry I helped myself to that night :)
Naan (Not on buffet spread) - assorted flavours!! (Butter, garlic, plain and 2 more which I couldnt catch from their Indian accent)
Can order FREE FLOW from the alacarte menu!
Also had a "Sex on the Beach" cocktail which made me frown/laugh at the bf's idea of humour:

Waiter: Any drinks for u sir?
N: I'll have Sex on the Beach
Waiter: How about you ma'am?
*before I could speak*
N: She'll be having it with me!
Me: O_o

I have moved on.....

To BIGGER things!!!

One of thou favorite m)phosis tops - Lycra kinda material that clings on to all inches of your body fat, hence was only bought and worn during those skinny days...

Until someone with BIGGER assets wore the same piece to office *gulpz*

I swear it looked inferior on me and I threw it back deeeeep into the wardrope! :p

But it got to see light recently... :):):):)
6++kgss of fats, some has to go to the correct place right???!!!

Ok la...I actually found out there's something even better than Triumph!
Interested female friends may enquire :) I will share selflessly :)

Now, that was quite a bimbotic rant.
