different style

tennis was difficult to pick up. especially for someone who started out playing badminton and according to her beloved, has a little bit of psychomotor problem.. z_z (why I am always at the being bullied end??)

it was a good game nonetheless as the opponents were zai in the game :)

more importantly, it was a sunday well spent with the morning starting as early as 7am, then off to brekkie, 2 hr game, and I got home to my dear baby by 12 noon.

I LOVE early starts on weekends! it just makes the weekend longer!

why dun u try waking up early early next time? ;p

Tackling marriage packages

while bumming around before that movie yesterday, some wedding service provider approached N & I and tried to psycho us into listening to his good wedding package deal.

The uncle said," I am not selling, i am only advertising. you come sit down and let me tell u what i have to offer."

***after some time trying to push down his offer***

Me, "uncle, we dun intend to get married yet. mayb few yrs later then we go find u ok? :) :) :)"

finally, we managed to get out of that weird situation and both of us thought of verrrry good ways to tackle those salesman next time.

Trick #1
Salesman - "r u 2 married?"
Man - "yes I am. This is my gf"
Salesman - "..."

Trick #2
Salesman - "r u 2 married?"
Man and woman - jnus acknowledge that u r married already

N decided that trick # 1 is better and he's gg to use it the next time we encounter such salesman again. i think i ll die luffing! and maybe i ll carry a mask out everytime we go out ;p

new toys for the men

the PH was supposed to be an eventful one @ Pulau Ubin but there was no company. Hence, we settled for a normal one which involved getting the accessories for the man's new toy.

MEN

they always go ooooooooooooh and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah over any single new toy they get, and spend looooooooooooooads of time and additional money modifying and beautifying them. that's just soooo different from women.

If someone were to give me an iphone, i ll at most go get a skin mask done in PINK and DIAMONTE. period. probably i ll get another pink handphone case to hold it.

So yesterday, we went from level one to six and then to one, floor by floor, to scout for the puuuuurfect case that looks cool and feels good. and the goodnight talk time reduced so that more time could be spent uploading pics/movies/songs and downloading applications and figuring out how to max out the functions of the phone.

and it continues into our dinner yesterday and to the little time we had before movie started.
I was given the "you go ahead and shop around ok? I ll stand one side wait for u and play with my iphone"

Food Lover

it is no doubt how much the new friendship brought out the food junkie in us. Most of the times, we would bring the new friends all around Singapore for the yummy food :) name any nooks and corners, we most probably have been there.. we d go for anything that's yummy, from the local orr lua from a kopitiam, to the chicken rice from a hawker centre, to Thai food around the hubby and my client's place, to the orr nee at Hougang mall, to the crayfish at Ulu Pandan, to the Thai buffet near Comcentre, and mannny mannnny more. we basically travelled places. Today luncheon, we explored a nonya food restaurant @ Joo Chiat, well tucked in a corner of the Malay village, and hidden unless u own a book showing restaurants tt participated in the Tourism foodie thingy.. it was a good experience and i was happy with the food.

the 2 yr old Hiroto was a cutsie though a bit hard to please and take care of.

La~ La~ land

nowadays the boy seems to have learned that the bed is for sleeping purposes. But it also still serves its purpose as a dog-fight fluff toy in the daytime ;p I woke up to the storm this morning to have a peep @ him and saw him staggering across to his bed and plopped himself inside :)

Soooooooooo cuddly cute

*love*

Love early sat mornings

The life now is all about baby boy :)

Intended to do a sat morn jog @ ECP with the Japs and let them have their first try on the blades. but the intention was thwarted with Murphy's sharp cries in the morning whilst i was getting ready for the day. i dashed out of the room to see him crouched in a weird and 'in-pain' position in the cage. immediately let him out and one ball of poop pooped out. so mother and i decided tt he was crying in pain from constipation. too bad dogs dun talk.

so being the worried mummy that i am, i decided to bring Murphy out to ECP....

He did me proud again and ran and ran and ran as far as his short legs could carry :) but i din want to overexert the little boy, so slowed down the pace a little..

the good company & I after our jog..

thereafter it was off to Eunos market for some local food. we ordered a looot of fooood :) and i introduced them to the Singapore LOR MEE~ the one at eunos market is really quite tasty (of cos not comparable to the bkt Purmei one that i used to eat while at the nasty job and which i dragged N to eat after i stopped doing that nasty job *heh* noone can resist goood foood). we had prata kosong, prata egg, lor mee, brown rice porridge, vegetarian zai er, kou rou and mei cai with rice, S$1.50 carrot cake, soya bean milk. A wholesome sat's brekkie after the workout and it felt fabulous!!

decided to make a trip to JB and we had dinner at this foodie stretch along the sea. little did we know.....

the food menu was all in MALAYU! and there was no picture on the menu! so it was quite hilarious seeing the guys try to order our food with the limited AYAM, IKAN, GORENG and NASI that they know. how the food was done, remained a surprise ;p

luckily for us, the vegetables were hung on the window of the kitchen, so we pointed to the 2nd stalk at the window and to our utmost amazement, the guy taking our order blurted, "KAILAN?". and we nodded our heads furiously ;p

the happy man and the grouchy man, who refused to be photographed

turns out food was not satisfying. so we headed for the safest foodie place - MCDONALDS :P

was a tiring day and we slept thru the car ride. Poor N had to ferry us to and fro *heh*

so today the prince decided to stay at home cos he is lazy to travel and we almost din intend to meet each other. but by some out of the box and impromptu decision, we decided that i shall take the car and drive myself down to his place!! :)

so Murphy was following me up and down the house while i packed my stuffs before i put him back to the cage for his daily 10am-6pm nap. but just when i was about to leave the house, he gave me that look and my heart just melted to puddles and i had no choice but to bring him along with me ;p (I will take a photo of Murphy's that look next time and let him melt ur heart)

he was well behaved through the meet-the-parents session and N's mother seems to like him :) despite raving threats to cook our dog if N & I ever brought home a dog haha!

So both days of the weekend was all about boy boy...it seems he is getting very attached to me as the days go by..

Shall end off with the pix of boy after his jog on sat--> i think he was panting heavily~

snoozy booze

I am reallie showing signs of aging from the way I snoozed @ the sofa seat @ Powerhouse last night. Perhaps it was the booze. Or could be just cos I m quarter century old...

it was a nice catch up amongst the girls to find out 1 rekindled love and 2 new budding relationship and just to hang around. talk about missing out in each other's lives! i heart quality meetups nowadays :) guez i ought to join the YOGA or the hiphop classes to stay in touch... weekends just seem to be sooooo soooo short!!

little one went for full grooming by the professionals today! finally! after 3 mths of lousy haircut by me as i tried to stretch that S$250 grooming package which gave me 5 + 1 FREE full groom sessions. he s got a "Puppy cut" and now spots cutsie squarish boxy ears!
snip snip
blowing dry

little chauffer~ u see the boxy ears? :)

Early Saturdays

Sat morning always starts early and meaningful for me cos it s Murphy's walk and bath day :)

The little boy din want to WALK himself to the park and I had to carry him all the way there before he finally touched ground to run/walk. he got soooo dirty from the puddles of water that splashed when he shuffled past.

here's Murphy - strolling
zonked out under my feet after 2.2km walk, accompanying us to bahkuteh brekkie @ Rangoon Rd, dog-marketing @ farmway1 and before his next stop for the day...
@ Giants

It was a tiring day for him. but i am sooo sooo proud of his 2.2km! :) and he went without food for the whole morning!! thats a super achievement considering how greedy he is

Here s a video of the impatient greedy boy on another one of those days~

A few weekends ago..

2 weekends ago - Murphy was brought to the Carls Jnr @ ECP with the Japs. Baby boy got all hyped up and shaky on his first trip out and we had to put him in the bag while we had our dinner..

*oww so cute!!*

zippedy safely snugly up in his bag

Another weekend ago - me was ferried to Bintan for a mini retreat. here's the atas room tt cost S$180 + a night. We only spent a night there anyway.

Lunch was another atas affair cos it rained and the group was stuck in the hotel. we took a S$32 buffet lunch which only served CHINESE dishes. There was lamb, chicken, beef with vege, egg, soup, keropok, icecream, lousy cakes and that was it! we paid S$32!! it was the cheaper of the 2 choices we had though.. the other one sells Jap food and is as heavily priced as a S$100 which someone saw on the price list of the menu!!!!!

With all means to keep guests within the premises, the hotel did not allow vehicles from the markets on the island to come over to pick us up. and they offered taxi services @ S$24 per trip!! with the 41 headcounts tt we had, it was difficult getting transport arrangement and the extra cost was not budgeted for.

This is the only nice part about the hotel.

Comfy thick beds..

a big flat screen mounted to the wall.
with my roommate on the little platform beside our beds.
And the little deck corner outside our room with forest view..

Recent weekend - Brought the boy on a 1.1km walk-cum-jog around Punggol Park as the vet has advised some exercise for the boy to make him more handsome :) but D is a little against it for fear tt the boy will grow too big for me to handle.. urm wellss... shall strike a balance i suppose.. :)

And i just thought Murphy looks cute in this, biting his little treat :)

~fishy fishy weekend~

D & I jetted off on another trip to Pulau Dayang with the Japs in company this time round. My 3rd trip to the same island so far and I wouldnt have stepped foot onto it so soon if not for jovial company whom I had lured into this sport. The collic got really interested after hearing me mentioning about my first trip for the first time! OKAY. I kind of tempted him with the moray eels, sea urchins, clams and his eyes immediately twinkled and I thought I saw a thought bubble floating around his head, spelling O-I-S-H-I neh~!

A peek into our recent rendezvous before the trip.....

We brought them to Ju Ju Japanese Hotpot restaurant @ Paradiz. D & I have been there once before and we were really satisfied with the humongous serving of the steamboat platter they serve and the yummy tamago that was 30% boiled given at the start of the course. So the heart melts into satisfaction when the wifey also commented tt tamago was oishi neh :) :)

Dinner over @ their humble hut.

Starter was oyster baked pasta sauce and melted cheese. (superlicious and I took at least 3 although I dun usually eat shell food).

Soup of the day was miso soup with lots of ingredients inside!! (lean pork strips, taupok, mushroom, veges, tofu - very unlike the usual seaweed and tofu miso and very very satisfying indeed!).

And the main course was what they invited us over for! Okinomiyaki - u know the kind sold @ fake japanese stalls during food festivals tt looks and tastes abit like our chinese carrot cakes? The real Jap style okinomiyaki is totally different!

Dessert was a home made chilled kaya swissroll.

And drink of the day for me was a can of TIGER beer :) That made the collic VErrrrry Verrrrry happy! because he finally found a drinking khaki! :) But i felt heavy headed and droopy eyed thereafter and dozed off on their couch ;p

so much for the yummacilious rendezvous, we went in search of their oishi sashimi last weekend :)

here's some pics to boast from our NEW and VERY OWN UNDERWATER CAMERA!!! :)

Friday night (1 Aug, 7-ish pm) before departure in the minivan from Dayang Island

~Embracing the warmth of the sunny beach~

we slept army style - 12 pax bunk. D&I normally get to stay in a 4 pax and more spacious bunk which had generator working 24 hours a day. Unfortunately, it was the 7th month and there was only less than half the crowd on the island. The 4 pax bunks were not opened and we had to settle for this army-style instead. The generator for this lower end bunk only worked from 7pm7am o_O. However, since there were soooo few ppl, 6 of us had the 12 bedded bunk to ourselves :) ( i din know it was the 7th lunar month when the trip was made, anyway the malays on the island offered incense and josssticks on the first night!)

first shot before headed to the waters with red filter (cost us S$200 whopping dollars!!)

A school of baracudas!!
pufferfish!!

tiny clam embedded in the coral

GIGANTIC clam!!! I was dumbfounded to see sucha RARE sight! the clam was almost 50cm by 70cm big AT LEAST!! i took extra precaution not to get too close because of my lousy bupyancy control. I was afraid the clam may just kiap me if i accidentally float into it ;p

zebra lionfish (this belongs to the scorpionfishes family and could be dangerous and its spikes contain a venom) - D was uneducated about this and went verrrrry verrrrry near to take pic of the beautiful 'coral' HAHA! My dream came true from this sighting :)!

AH-HA! recognise it dont u? Nemo look-alike! but it is black! It is the Clark's Anemonefish (aka clark's clown fish) and is was swimming towards D!!

here is a pink one, called the pink anemonefish

and there you have it! NEMO!! :) our favorite shot from the whole trip :)
random yellow tiny weeny fish tt D&I gave up trying to flip thru those pages of the TROPICAL REEFS bookss in search of its name... so its called the yellowfish (educate me if u hav the real name!)

Bumphead parrotfish! (has super sharp and menacing teeth but the gentle giant only feeds on corals). there was a family of 5 swimming around the corals and the same family of 1-1.5m long fishes i saw on my last trip :) awwwww~

rarity. we caught sight of a cuttlefish!! :) :)

Do you see it? A lizardfish :)

longfin spadefish

Highfin coral fish

Moorish Idol

The above 3 fishes do bear some resemblance so I put them together :)

Jetty dive - A school of thousandsssssss of yellowfin jacks

macro shot - nudibrunch (aka sea slugs)

Rayner's rock dive - BIG BLUE starfish!!!!

rarity. SEA TURTLE (my first sighting laaa)

underwater christmas tree

you know this is a FISH also???!!!! it is a FLAT FISH!!! I was super puzzled when D pointed frantically to this puddle of sand to our fellow leisure buddy, GES. Lucky GES, being a seasoned diver (and is @ maldives diving now), recognised it straight away and hooked it uo with his stick. THEN i saw it slipped and swam away, like a fish. :) Moving on.... N saw ANOTHER FLAT FISH!! and he tried to imitate what GES did to hook the flat fish earlier....

Stick pointing right @ the bottom of the fish (we were both having FUN with our flatfish while GES was inching further n further away from us) and GUESS WHAT???!! our discovery turned out to be jus a PUDDLE OF SAND!! and it dispersed into the waters when D hooked it up. hmf hmf hmf - our underwater giggling sound! hahaha!

Sea Urchin~! oishi!!

D&I spent 2 evenings collating these pics and flipping thru the FISH books to identify EACH AND EVERY once of the fishes u ve seen (n more in our photobooth). We had a rofl good time pointing out each other's stupidity in lousy identification of the fishes haha!!

on TOIL today!

Baby Love

Here is an update of my little baby....

Murph @ 4 months old, after his preedy haircut by his mummy! :P He is shedding his puppy coat and looked a mess in his black/gray/peach fur.... so i decided to groom him a little. Now he is gray/peach only :)

Cant wait to see him in peach! So meanwhile, I ll just watch the boy grow slowly... once his gray coat has to come off, he ll probably be 6 mths old :)

He looks like an angel here... but dun be fooled!! he s actually a devil in disguise! And he requires a lot a LOT of attention esp from mummy! He even recognises my ringtone! Just the other day, he was locked in the room when i stepped into the house. Coincidentally, N called and the phone rang and my baby started barking!!!! ^_^

A mini collage of my/our baby ...

Am @ wrk but meeting the gals for dinner soon~ cant wait to zabo!

till then... cya with another update after my dive trip this weekend~ :)

N&I bot our own cameo... so we ll be back with dive pics!!
