MY kind of cheesecake!!!! :)
I always find the texture of rich creamy cheesecake too cheesy for my liking. It gets a bit GE-LARD sometimes and I always had to share my slice.
BUT yuppidy-doo!!!
I think. I found the right solution for myself! :):) This cake is for archives!
But the first attempt is not without setbacks though....
There is no ugly cake. Only lazy bakers. ;p And that, shall be elaborated to serve as constant reminder to self not to take shortcuts next time.
One block of Philadelphia.
The blending starts for Mixture A - Cheese mixture
Mixture B - Had to separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.
But the lazy baker didnt bother to completely separate the eggs! See the blotch of yolk in the mixing bowl?! I blatantly ignored its existence!
The off to whisk Mixture B without cleaning the whisking blades of Mixture A... I thought since everything was going to be mixed together anyway, why bother?! Wrong thinking!
The result was a 20-minute whisking with futile outcome (Mixture B was supposed to transform into a pure white peak, but u see, mine is abit yellowish and not standing) before I decided to seek help from Google. It certainly helped that the recipe was read off the Ipad, which eased my access to Google. If not, I wouldnt have even bothered.. ;p
And so, answers found. Ended up re-mixing a new Mixture B. The mixture is not supposed to drip back into the mixing bowl. This is not quite done yet....
There! The successful peak should look something like this!!! 'standing' and doesnt drip back into the mixing bowl. And this only took me 5 minutes of whisking!
Reminder to self: Never take shortcuts again next time O_o
Batter done. Time for pouring into baking tins!
And popped into the over!
AND...
TAHDAH!!!
The round baking tin was placed in the lower rack with obviously no room for upward expansion. I actually thought about it for a split second after popping it into the oven. But you see, I was lazy to open the oven again and re-adjust the rack's position....
And so....it didnt turn out as pretty...
But just as a good employee should be able to provide solutions to his boss, a good baker should also be able to salvage this ugly situation (pun pun!!). I shall henceforth name this the.......
SHWU'S ROCKY CHIFFON CHEESECAKE!!! :)
It is still edible la! Just fail the aesthetic aspect...
And for the ever patient and loveliest tiny furball in my life...
MUMMY LOVES YOU!
