Lost Dog III

Pink and I went searching for The Dog late Friday night, around the same time that we usually sight him.

Armed with food and water, and this time round, without Murphy the lazy snoot in tow, we managed to tread on a lil bit faster.

No luck with the search. And I also didnt see him over the weekend.

I hope my prayers were secretly answered, and that he has met some other kind souls along his journey. No animals deserve to be treated like that.

The kind people from THEREHOMERS saw my pleas for help on a forum and kindly offered to put up a notice on their website.

Here is the POST.

I never knew such blog existed and I'm glad there is. If my humble blog can be of help in any way, please do click on this LINK whenever you are net surfing, as there are updates on their blog from time to time.

Every day, there are dogs being lost, found or even put up for adoption. Therehomers serve as a common media for a bigger network of people to info share.  It gives these furballs a longer chance of survival. It is the alternative answer to SPCA, who might just send the furballs to the other side of the rainbow within 24 hours. But this shall be another story for another day. There is actually an administrator who checks out different forums for lost/found/adoption thread and put them up onto this blog.

For example, I sighted a lost dog and was quite helpless about how to search for its owner and adopters. The adminstrator contacted me and requested to place a post on their blog. With this common media, my pleas for help could be more widely publicised and who knows, maybe read by another kind soul behind the computer who happens to know the owner, or who happens to have an extra space at home to house him.

You could be one of them. Even a piece of information about a sighting can help an unfortunate owner find their beloved back.

Please help if you can bring any of them home.

I literally seethed in anger at a recent adoption post from a man, whose wife just got pregnant and claimed that there is now no one to take care of the dog. Like I said, they do not need alot from us. I am pretty sure the man doesnt have to attend to his pregnant wife 24/7, as she should be capable of taking care of herself independently. Pregnancy is not = inadequacy. And I am very sure some time management can be practised to care for both the dog AND the baby AND, if she needs, the wife. Giving up to another DOG LOVER is not a solution.

Lost Dog II

Day 2 of dog searching on Thursday evening.

Miraculously, the sweepers did not pick up the 'litter' I left at the void deck. And the food I left on the floor was gone!!! I'm not sure whether it was the cats or The Dog, because the 2 milk bone treats I left there was intact.

Momsie said the food level dropped when she walked pass in the morning. But she thought someone topped up the food in the afternoon when she went back to check again.

Whoever it was, I'm thankful it's not just me alone :)

I turned up at December's house to update her about my sighting last night. And both furballs had the ultimate fun fighting with each other for the same ball (when there are at least 10 balls in the house!) and playfully growling at each other while diving for the ball we throw. Of course, December is not used to sharing his toys and exhibited some sort of jealousy from time to time ;p

DAMN. Forgot to ask for the mom's name and hp number again.

The other neighbour, I got to know her name is Maggie, popped by and we went in search of The Dog again.

Again, we lost him. His tail tucked tightly under his legs the moment he saw us. He was afraid. And he started to flee, again.

We left the food where we last saw him and hopefully, he will find his way back there.

We dont see him during the day and hopefully he has found a safe shelter to hide from the storm and the evil people. You never know how cruel some humans may be.

That said, I actually know of a heartless boyfriend-turned-husband, who was only interested in his girlfriend. FUCK that idiot. LOVE is about loving your girlfriend's life (family, friends, career and pets). Not just her pussy! So the moment the girlfriend-turned-wife got pregnant, he immediately used it as a good reason to kick the dog out of the house. It is not even a reason. Luckily the mommy has a good friend who is an animal lover, and is also my neighbour. So I saw how the poor dog exhibited phobia of being abandoned as he followed his new mommy up and down the house every minute of the day.

Called up the SPCA in the morning and learned that they can only come get The Dog if we manage to confine him at an area.
God, how do we do that if he keeps running away???

Why would anyone buy a dog if he cant live up to the commitments?
Owning a dog is not as financially extravagant as you see in the picture above. Spoilt brat. Basically all a dog needs is food, water, shelter and love from the owner. I have known of a certain dog in my neighbourhood who eats what the owner eats, and gets self-medicated when he falls sick. He is at least 15 years old now and still walking.
They dont need alot from us.
Just ample love, care and attention.
They cant speak.
But they display body languages.
So they depend on humans to read them.
Like how The Dog depends on us to save him from further harm.
See how my dog 'speaks' to me during my non-loveshugskisses moment :D
He was totally cringing away!

Abandoned Dog

There has been a wandering dog around my neighbourhood.

He is black/white, owns a bushy tail that curls upwards and medium size. I still cant find a matching breed  to The Dog from google, but he is definitely not a stray. Sadly, I have not gotten close enough to get a picture. And actually, I am just using HE generally. I have no idea whether it is a male or a female.

There is no LOST DOG notice around the neighbourhood. So our guess is that he has been abandoned. Fuck that heartless dog owner.

I have spotted him for about a week now, and everyday he is still trotting around during the dark hours. Each day, I pray that he meets kind souls in his journey and that he be safe.

I first heard his howls last Thursday night (I think). He sounded as though he was wailing. I peeped out of my window and tried to find the source of the howls. It took me a long while for the eyes to spot something moving across the grass field right below. But it was too late for me to go down..

I was awoken by more howlings in the wee hours of Friday morning. Again, it was too dark for me to go down...maybe I'm just being the typical nonchalent Singaporean who waits for things to happen on its own...

For the whole week, I spotted him on and off every time I peeped out of the window..but it was always during the nightfall to early morning. So I never had the chance to complete what the heart felt I should do - to go look for him.

However, I made point to carry a packet of dry food and some water whenever I am walking Murphy, in case I bump into The Dog downstairs. But I never did. No such luck. He was always only right across the field when I peep out of my window.

FINALLY yesterday, I decided to do something about it. While bringing Murphy down at 930pm, I peeped out of the window again and saw The Dog!! Met a neighbour in the lift who told me she has also heard of it and has been looking out as well. It was really heartwarming to know that there are other animal lovers out there. And it gave an extra boost to completing my mission.

So with her and her brother, we gathered another dog owner and her dog, and went in search for The Dog. We went in the direction where I saw him walking towards. It leads to the small park in our neighbourhood, but we still couldnt find him..

We decided to split ways to hunt for him. Me with Murphy and the other dog owner (I only know her as December's mum) with December. The other neighbour went to grab her quick dinner with her bro.

Found nothing.

Murphy & I went back to our side of the grass field....

..................

And I squinted across again and saw the dog!!!

So, with my laziest dog breed in tow, I dragged and pulled Murphy across the grass field again to the dog!

This time round, I got near. And managed to catch a closer look at him. He looked sick and had dark spots all over the body. And he was grazing the grass as though looking for food. The heart just wringed in pain.

He seems to be afraid of human beings and ran away when he saw us coming. Also ran away when another human being got near while he was trying to flee from me.

You know. Dogs normally dont just run away from fellow dogs. I have seen how Murphy excitedly chase after doggy scent and dog traces. Furthermore, Murphy was much smaller that he was. So I'm guessing he must have been very badly treated for the past week (and God knows what happened to him prior to that).

I chased him silently for about 3 blocks and a huge carpark before I could get him to stop and for me to put down the food and water for him.

He stood in the shadows and watched as I knelt down in the brightly lit void deck to put his meal down. He knew.  But he seems to be very wary of human beings. So I summoned for him to come and proceeded to walked away so he could eat in peace.

Maybe he didnt understand my gesture. Because he also walked away. I thought he must be hiding in some dark corners or under some cars while waiting for the coast to be clear. So I brought Murphy home and decided to go down later to check if he has eaten the food.

He DIDNT.

I hope it's because he is full from the food that other kind souls out there fed him.

N said I should just get the SPCA people to help. I guess that's the only way now.

Just in case he is really a lost dog, can you guys please look around for any LOST DOG notices around your neighbourhood? Let me know if any fits my description.

Thank you. And God, please bless the dog.
