Somewhere in the midst of all home and bridal busy-ness, we managed to slot in a road trip to Melaka over the weekend. It isnt easy getting a convoy of people to go in together, so we literally JUMPED at the chance when there was a party of 8 present before us, finally.
It wasnt an easy choice to let go of everything ongoing or could have happened in Singapore at that moment, missing out that Saturday where we could have met up with the electrician and drew up all our points for the electrical works to kickstart earlier. Afterall, as Allan says, "We only have ONE saturday each week!!!"
Granted the preciousness of Saturdays these days, we r glad we didnt make a wrong choice to ditch those errands!
Melaka FOOD!!
Day 1 was spent eating something every 3-hourly, that we got sick of the whole motion of eating - not of the food, but of the motion of eating.
Lunch @ Bei Zhan at 1plus. Forgot to take our dimsum brekkie at 10plus.
KONG BA BOW was freaking AWESOME!!! In fact, anything unhealthy is gastronomical. ;p
Seafood dinner @ 6plus somewhere along the straits.
I am not good with directions and remembering addresses. BUT I do have a very reliable driver with some kind of photographic memory of roads he s driven on.
So at least that could bring me back to the same place over and over again. :)
Day 2: The suite came with 6 brekkie coupons. We took the opportunity to finally act on our wedding diet plan! So we snoozed till the rest came back from brekkie, not more than 3 hours before they have lunch again!
Peranakan Food - must have when in Melaka. No picture of the yummy bird that arrived late.
And we were ON a SPECIAL DIET!!!
That's how we share our love - we share the sins :)
So that was how fruitfully we spent our only Saturday (+ Sunday) of that week..
Fast forward to this week, our electrician missed our appointment last night. And I am terribly sorry to my girls, my only Saturday this week has been set aside for gown selection (Photoshoot is next saturday!!) that we r left with the Sunday to do this whole electrical work thing. I cant do KTV *sobs* this Sunday :(
But I do hope I can find a 3-hour slot somewhere in the weekend to
DO THIS!
This was freakin AWESOME!!! The final calorie I chomped down in Melaka (not counting the wasabi nuts, potato crackers, chocolate waffers and sourplum titbits we nommed on the looong drive back to SG) and I want to re-create one in DURIAN before all inspirations are gone! Esp since it's mama's birthday celeb dinner this weekend! Just in case I dont have that luxury of a 3-hour kitchen time, we ve got our asses covered already. MAOSHANWANG + D24 homemade durian cake has already been booked. :D
Weekend, pls come quick!
