Go Korean I

Just finished that bowl of bird's nest lovingly boiled by N's mama for me.
What a good dessert to finish off tonight's Korean meal...

Feeling the love and warmth. Gotta catch a good night's sleep tonight! :):):)

We brought the last batch of Korean beef to dinner earlier on. Han Sang again :) They dont usually do this - allow people to bring in their own meat. N got the 1st attempt due to some internal connections. With a precedence set, it's easier to remind people to let u in for the 2nd..... and the 3rd time - it was our last batch anyway! At least for this year anyway :)

The prices they charged escalated though :( Well, like I said, they dont usually do it. So they anyhow charge.. :( so it might really be the last batch..

I'd still recommend the restaurant for normal Korean dining though. Cos they serve AUTHENTIC korean food :) Oh man... i think my stomach just growled again....

N's mama said I shd go to bed after drinking her bird's nest....Guess I ll do just that!

Han Sang Korean Restaurant, Square 2
The cooking area we paid for to coook those beef authentically :)
Free flow of vegetablessss to wrap the meat. I just ate the vege dip with the red sauce (picture below) by its own..

AND!

The juicy good slabs we brought in with us! Good grilled even on its on. I'm serious! NO marinating!!!!!
In order to make it even more AUTHENTIC...
Some Korean dips...

We had quite a huge batch of meat, hence did not order anything else from the menu. Will be back for more!! :)

Alrighty!! Bed beckons!
*YAWNS*
Goodnight world!
*tummy rumbles*

A journey....

See you at the other end! :)

This is still in Singapore!

Go Indian (Part II)

We have an exotic food fetish lately. Wanted to learn about and try out more of such local delights that are easily available in our multi-cultural society.

Continuing from our first Indian food expedition from HERE, N got hooked on the NAANS and we decided to venture into another Indian restaurant at Race Course Road (somewhere in the heart of Little India) on Thursday night.

Delhi Restaurant - Race Course Road
They will usually start you up with the appetizer. The very scarce piece of cracker when you order nasi briyani. It is called the
PAPADUM
Repeat after me with a 2 head shakes left and right ;p
So next time, when you go to any indian stall to order, please do not make the same mistake as me. It is not called the Keropok... :p

The sourish green dip for Papadum.

Then came the mains. They sell an assortment of NAANS - garlics, onions, cheese, butter, plain (i think there are some more on the menu, but am with unfamiliar indian herbs). That will be the carbs if you are not ordering rice/noodles.
We chose 2 flavours of NAANS. Garlic and plain. It took me quite a while to learn to appreciate these fluffy stuff that look almost similar to roti pratas, yet not as savoury.
To eat these, you must order some dishes with gravy. Most of the indian meat and vege dishes are cooked in gravy of some sorts. If in doubt, ask the waiters/waitresses.

We ordered the Chicken Tika Masala. Chicken Tika would be just the fried chicken, without gravy. The masala is the gravy. :) So dont order the wrong one if you need dips for NAANS! :)

Chicken Tika Masala

The vege menu spoke to us in a weird language. So we told the kind waitress to recommend us something good. When the COTTAGE CHEESE was mentioned, there was no need for further recommendation. We settled for that almost immediately!

Spinach in Cottage Cheese
I was quite amazed by the way Indians eat their vegetables. All mothers with fussy eaters should try this at home. The vege was grinded to nothingness. It was almost like we were eating cheese with spinach gravy, instead of the other way round.. :)

We have just upped another level into our cultural food tasting. And will definitely be back there for more! On a weekday! :p
You know, when the roads and the open fields are less crowded..

Singapore Night Scene

BEAUTIFUL city scape and city lights.

The perfect venue chosen to celebrate Wui's week short stay in Singapore this time round. This girl has been in the states for way too long and out of touch with the local scape changes.

We got lucky! There were fireworks that night!!!! You can still see the laser lights in our background.

We've got a new blooming love among us that night. <3 hence things shall stay anonymous for this lucky man for the time being :):):)

Picnic style hangout. There were alot of night kites flying around.
NICE :)

It's good to do this once in a while...

Till the next time...

Date Night :)

They say birds of a feather flock together.

Wednesday night, we decided to play punk and skip classes :p
So off we went on a paktor night at Dempsey Hills :) And grow fat together..

Just him and me

House at Dempseys - The Barracks
It is in the same building as the Beauty Emporium, which provides top to toe beauty services. I was quite enthralled with the whole concept of having everything under one roof. So hiao yet busy women who has too many social and family commitments after work, and has too little time for etcetra stuffs like personal grooming, can book all her hair, wax, brows and nails sessions on the same day as her dinner! They even sell skincare products! FABULOUS! Saves alot of travelling time too! :D

The interior of the restaurant was so-so. It used to be a barrack and I guess they did little to the renovations in order to preserve the historical look. See the draping wires that were hung intentionally over the ceilings? They were an eye-sore..

Rustic wooden pillars were preserved converted into tables.
The exterior was better. The restaurant was surrounded by lush greeneries that provided a tranquil setting for the evening. We were quite lazy and did not go explore around. But judging from the view from our table, it seemed good enough.

We were actually there for the truffle fries! Much raved about by N, the potato lover. So I ordered a burger meal that came with the truffles!

It actually came with TWO mini burgers! So-so only la.

What I really liked were the TRUFFLE FRIES!!!!! It looked like any other normal french fries...... But I swear to you, truffle oil is good oil! whahaha! Fat people are often in self denial when it comes to food :p:p:p

But who cares?!
Eat first. Burn later.
That other good thing was actually the deeeeeep fried sweet potatoes. Verrrrry yums! Sugar coated!!!! :):)

N's opted for the 7 meatballssssssss spaghetti. The meatballs are good and you get seven of them. Fans of IKEA meatballs should seriously consider trying these out. I aint no ball lover, but it tasted good to me :)

The waiters/waitresses there were happy people!
Even their mayonnaise was HAPPY!

And the chilli sauce was JUBILANT too!

They kept making rounds to ask the diners if everything was ok and if the food was ok yada yada yada. Overall, I was quite happy with their service.

How not to smile when people keep smiling at you and even give you smiling mayonaise and chilli sauce????!!
:):):):)

Heard the desserts are good but we were too full to try that night..
But we definitely will be back :)

Midweek Chill

Aphrodisiacs
It wasnt my birthday. I just happened to be sitting at the wrong place ;p
2 of the most hilarious girls to hang out with. Emergence of the classic statement had us bow over in hysterical laughters the whole night o_O

Wokay. So apart from the very "in" in Singapore KOI drink and the local yummers foods, this was the other highlight of the night.
Dark chocolate with hazelnut waffle base.
It makes you sexually high! Figuratively!
Alright.

Now DROOL!!!!!

Lost Dog III

Pink and I went searching for The Dog late Friday night, around the same time that we usually sight him.

Armed with food and water, and this time round, without Murphy the lazy snoot in tow, we managed to tread on a lil bit faster.

No luck with the search. And I also didnt see him over the weekend.

I hope my prayers were secretly answered, and that he has met some other kind souls along his journey. No animals deserve to be treated like that.

The kind people from THEREHOMERS saw my pleas for help on a forum and kindly offered to put up a notice on their website.

Here is the POST.

I never knew such blog existed and I'm glad there is. If my humble blog can be of help in any way, please do click on this LINK whenever you are net surfing, as there are updates on their blog from time to time.

Every day, there are dogs being lost, found or even put up for adoption. Therehomers serve as a common media for a bigger network of people to info share.  It gives these furballs a longer chance of survival. It is the alternative answer to SPCA, who might just send the furballs to the other side of the rainbow within 24 hours. But this shall be another story for another day. There is actually an administrator who checks out different forums for lost/found/adoption thread and put them up onto this blog.

For example, I sighted a lost dog and was quite helpless about how to search for its owner and adopters. The adminstrator contacted me and requested to place a post on their blog. With this common media, my pleas for help could be more widely publicised and who knows, maybe read by another kind soul behind the computer who happens to know the owner, or who happens to have an extra space at home to house him.

You could be one of them. Even a piece of information about a sighting can help an unfortunate owner find their beloved back.

Please help if you can bring any of them home.

I literally seethed in anger at a recent adoption post from a man, whose wife just got pregnant and claimed that there is now no one to take care of the dog. Like I said, they do not need alot from us. I am pretty sure the man doesnt have to attend to his pregnant wife 24/7, as she should be capable of taking care of herself independently. Pregnancy is not = inadequacy. And I am very sure some time management can be practised to care for both the dog AND the baby AND, if she needs, the wife. Giving up to another DOG LOVER is not a solution.
