Breathless wonder (Down Under IV)

We were up by 730am on Sat morning to catch our !!8am!! coach ride out of the city.

It was totally worth it!

Breathtaking wonders of the Blue Mountains. *picture unedited*
The highlight of the Blue Mountains was actually the Three Sisters. Legend has it that there was once three beautiful sisters from the Katoomba tribe who fell in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe. Tribal law forbade them from marrying each other. The brothers tried to use force to capture the three sisters and started a tribal war. A witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe turned the three sisters into stones to protect them from any harm. He intended to reverse the spell when the war was over but was however, killed during the war. As there was no one else who could reverse the spell and return the three beauties to life, they remained as rocks and remind the many generation of the historic battle.

There I was, with 2 of the 3 sisters' statue. Sometimes I wonder if men come up with legends to market natural sculptures and occurences or if they are genuinely passed down...I guess anyone would be more interested in rocks with a story behind them right?

here are the 3 magnificent sisterly rocks :)

Our entrance fee bought us 3 rides within the mountains. The 1st of all rides is a 52 degree inclined railway ride...see how steeeeep it is?!

Cher and I on the railway seats. YES. If you are wondering, thats a Chanel shade..
The 2nd ride was on a cable car. In the middle of the car was a platform like this! That's our feet!
AND see how it transformed when the car moved out into the mountains! Not for ppl scared of heights! :D
The last ride was a normal cable ride back (no pictures)

With a mountain so big, of course people will dig for iron/gold/silver/diamond! The mountain used to be a coal mine! There I was, at the ventilation entrance of the mine...
Took a peep inside...Man-made fire and coal miner (pardon the unclear pic. It was the best I could take as the inside was too dark)

And of course there were horses to transport the coals and miners! This was a great photoshoot place :)

When we were done touring the mountains, Cher & I went in search for food. No bf since we woke up at 730am for that freaking early 8am coach ride! And we found this HUGE Koala!!
A light meal and a cuppa to cure that caffeine itch:)
We were supposed to do Jenolah caves (think Staglamites and Stalacites and maybe bats) but the road to the caves was blocked by a fallen tree... :( :( so we went to the Chocolate factory instead..

They had some good chocolate bars ;p
We couldnt interpret this very well though... what's with the word girth?
AND MY personal favorite!! :D
We had a Singaporean feast with some of Cher's friends at an apartment thereafter. Can you imagine a FULL day's tour in the wildlife park and the mountains and we didnt even sweat a bit? So no shower until the dinner ended! :) heez...
Here are some good food camwhoring...
ARE YOU READY???
Vegetarian beehoon! AND!!!

CHILLI CRABSS!!! :) :)
Sauce made from scratch and is ooohlaaaalaaaa~!
If you are interested in a day tour out to the mountains, grab a coach ticket from one of the chinese tour agencies in Chinatown! We did! Cheaper deals! :)
