Yes. i thought they were potatoes n bot them home to make baked potatoes, (together with terriyaki salmon for lunch) but realised that the water used to boil the "potato" turned purplish with a slight Fe color. even waited till the "potato" was fully boiled n cut to realise that the flesh was purple too! got sooo horrified at the rotten potato i had bot home and threw it away immediately. but i left the remaining 3 in the kitchen.
a few days later, the remaining potatoes were gone. I asked mummy about the 3 gandangs i left on the kitchen ledge and she said "oh! u bot the ba chikus ahhhh?"
o_O
but i need to declare that the chikus i bot weren't packed in these styrofoam trays with cling wraps and with a labelled sticker! they were packed in a plastic bag with no label and were sitting in a sale basket. i just happened to walk past the basket and decided that a baked potato wld taste great with the salmon tt was alr in my cart.. mayb i shd mention tt i also saw some bananas in tt basket? so i shd hav guessed tt what i took was a fruit? bt who knows there exists sth tt looks like a potato??????
oo_O
and this leads me back to an old joke mjy partner created when we went grocery shopping for BBQ food some years back. We saw a tray of sweet potatoes and she excitedly shouted, "HEY!! potato also got orange color one leh!!"
the rest of us, " ^_^"" "
