::BABY:: Two Front Teeth!

Who knows one can be so excited over something as normal as cutting teeth?!
When we first spotted tiny pearly dots protruding out from D's gums, we got carried away trying at every chance we got to pry open his mouth to take a closer look.

I remember the initial discovery went something like:
N: Mummy, did u see his new teeth?
Me: No. Really??!!
And we proceeded to check it out together until little one got angry and started screaming us out of his face. And as some sort of self defence, he learned to clam his mouth really tight.

On several other random occasions I proceeded to perform same stunt again. But D mastered the art of his newfound defence skills.

We saw it occasionally when he was crying, but never had the chance to take a good look - one long enough for us to stare at them in awe and exclaim how cute they were!

But VIOLA! I managed to capture these in picture!
Look at that cute little teeth!
I can finally stare at them for forever!

So we have just incorporated a new morning regime for the little man.
This, and singing: This is the way we brush our teeth....so early in the morning!
Parenting is teamwork.

On D's tooth cutting journey:
He got it done easy peasily. We are glad we didn't have an extremely cranky baby while the teeth tried to make their way out. We bought 2 teethers way before but didn't have much use for those. I only gave him about 3-4 toothiepeg sticks in total before those pearlies appeared. On hindsight, he probably had some itchy gums which he tried to self-sooth all by himself:
So itchy!!! Chomps!
Thank You for making it easy!

::BABY:: Celebrating 9MO!

We braved the haze on last week to have a mini celebration for D's turning 9 month-old!
It was a mini celebration in a Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant in CCP - we saw that they have a cake that looked reasonably 'baby-friendly' on the menu.

D's 9 month-old Strawberry Cheese Souffle!
He couldn't stop staring!

So I held up his spoon to catch his attention for the camera!

I want to eat cake!

He was making a lot of noise after we finished the cake. I had no more tricks up my sleeves/no more snacks in his bag. But there was pineapple at the salad bar...SO...

D had his first taste of SOUR!
:p

::BABY:: Yoghurt for Babies!

I remember seeing shelves of baby yoghurts in Woolsworth and thought why we didn't have any in Singapore.

But see what I found when I came back!!
I was actually trying to find a high calcium, plain normal yoghurt for D, but spotted this lying amidst the major yoghurt brands! It was just a little tray of about 12 cups and very easy to miss! And I didn't see any plain yoghurt that says they are hi-calcium. So....spent a little bit more on this - anything marked 'baby' usually come at a more premium price -_-"
S$1.55 for a cup
This was his 2nd cup and he still prefers the apple flavoured one!

::BABY:: Superman!

It was TGIF and I just dressed D up in his new onsie and a bib that screams "It's YOUR day dadada!"

But since we were going to watch Man of Steel, we decided to dress D up for our movie date.
And we tried to get him to do a flying superman pose.

::BABY:: Parklon Space Folder

I have been thinking about getting a playmat for D for the longest time. Mainly because most babies outgrow the products' useful lives too quickly and I was afraid the playmat might just end up in storage in a couple of months. And also, D was sitting pretty sturdily by his 7th month that I had no worries he would need a cushioned ground to fall back on.

But by the 8th month, he still wasn't crawling. I noticed his crawling style was the crocodile type rather than the doggy type. And our hard floor wasn't that conducive for such style of crawling. So in order to facilitate his crawling milestone, I decided it was time to get him a playmat!

Got him the Parklon Space Folder after doing some research.

1. Foldable
Unlike the rollout kind, this will be easier to stash and store on a daily basis. Very important for our limited living space!

2. Simple block colors!
I like that it came in 4 simple colours instead of having prints. Prior to this, I was actually having a hard time sieving through the mickey mouses, school buses, winnie the poohs with alphabets, numbers or steps and ladders for a simple and soothing print. Good thing I took so long to decide because the space folder just became available not too long ago! :)

3. 40mm thickness!
The rollout kinds are all in the range of 15mm thickness. More cushioning! I foresee a longer useful life for this one as it can take D through some gymnastic stunts like forward rolls and backward rolls, maybe even headstands and mini cartwheels ;) That's what they do in primary schools, don't they?!

I don't even rollout my yoga mat nowadays...It's like a free for all mat in our house now (see point #4)

4. One mat, many uses!
Because the mat is jointed, it can be folded and used in several ways. Got these from the website!

Here's D hanging out on his playmat!

He has since mastered the art of crawling with the backside - it doesn't look anywhere like a crawl but in the parental dictionary, there are 3 kinds of crawl and the backside crawl is one of them.
Or so I have learnt because our parents exclaimed,"OH!他是用屁股爬的啊!"

So there. Our latest baby gadget.
The Parklon Space Folder.
Size: 2000 x 1600 x 40
Price: $218

::BABY:: Superhero wardrobe

D's down with a weird outbreak of rash after his fever. Dr says its nothing serious and to only go back for a review IF the fever does not subside by Sat since it is also the dengue season and we just want to be sure everything is alright. He's fever has already subsided but since his skin was still bumpy and I assume too diseased-like for skool, I decided to keep him at home and spare the kids and teachers there the gruesome sight.

I have never googled and seen so much rashes in my life!
They give me GOOSEBUMPS!!
But all for the love of D, I had to find out what his rashes were before we could see the doctor on a Thursday morning - our clinic closes at 1230 on Wednesday.

This, is not for the faint-hearted (Like I was once until D arrived, YIKES!)
No cream was given for the rash. The only medicine was to keep him cool. Here's the bumpy leg after 2 hours of aircon.
And this is after we went out..

So now I put him back in aircon for his nap.
You know, I would have cried if I saw these on myself...
But now I rub and hold them close, and check on them ever so often to see if they are gone, and I even googled for more similar rash images and give myself a hell of a goose bumpy good time.
Things change when you become a mum. :)

Since a sight like this looked more serious than what was diagnosed, I think I did the right thing by keeping him from skool less he scare the other kiddos there.

Nonetheless, since dr has already said it's nothing serious, I decided to bring D out to catch the GSS!
The bibs were selling at 2 for $2.90!! I grabbed even though they were in a shade of baby girl's colors.
We have a major droolboo at home and never get enough of these - who cares about the colors?

And I saw the last of the superhero piece of clothe to complete his basic superhero wardrobe
A BATMAN swimsuit! :):):)

Little man's wardrobe is complete now.
CHECK THESE OUT!
